Annual Midwest Juneteenth Festival
This annual one-day festival is filled with Black Heritage, music, dance, food and more! From live performances to interactive exhibits, the Midwest Juneteenth festival provides the community with an opportunity to enjoy the vast culture, history, and impact of African Americans from across the Midwest and beyond.
Held at the River Edge Park in downtown Aurora, IL, our festival highlights local and regional African American-owned by providing the opportunity to showcase their unique products and service which includes traditional African clothing, instruments, Juneteenth memorabilia and so much more!
But the festival doesn’t stop there…there are on-site health screens that are vital to the African American community. Did you know:
-
African Americans ages 18-49 are twice as likely to die from heart disease…
-
African Americans ages 35-64 years old are 50 percent more likely to have high blood pressure…
-
Twenty-five percent of African Americans seek mental health treatment, compared to 40 percent of white Americans…
The QCAACC, along with its partners, will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Chamber’s College Fund which is designed to grow and uplift our future generation of African American leaders.
